Governance & 2016 RDCO Wage Disclosures

The independent consultant firm has been selected by a three member RDCO management team. Again this decision was made with no input from myself or the community paying for the process. The Board with the exception of the three Kelowna Board Representatives supported this selection of the consultant. Here are the

Another Power Outage for North Westside

Woke up with no power this morning. The BC Hydro Outage Site said that it went out at 5:55 and that crews were on route. Makes it difficult to get going in the morning but nothing new for our community ... price of being rural I suppose. Just came back on at 7:44...

I had lunch at Two Eagles Golf Course today and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Westbank First Nations and the RDCO. That MOU and an update on the lake levels are today's Post. The picture is Chief Roxanne Lindley & RDCO Board Chair Given signing the agreement.

Flood Update – Foreshore Properties

Foreshore properties must remain vigilant

While lake levels in the Central Okanagan decline slowly, water levels remain at historic highs. Here is the latest video of conditions on Okanagan Lake in the Killiney Beach Park and waterfront area. Not looking good. The road is under a foot of water in places, the hydro pole is well under water and useless as a source of power as well the community dock is in...

Killiney Beach Flooding Update

I went for a walk through Killiney Beach to see the changes I missed over the last few days. What a difference. The water is well over the road for a large stretch of the north end of the park. The section where the Tiger Dams were deployed then removed are under water.

Flood / Evacuation Information Update – Jun 2 17 – North Westside

This was today's RDCO release pertaining to the evacuation and flooding information for Killiney Beach in particular but the generic flooding information is critical to all residents of EA West. At the moment the problems seem to be in and around Killiney Beach but all the waterfront homes and waterfront infrastructure from...
