SILGA Convention 2019 – Southern Interior Local Government Association

The SILGA Convention is an annual get together by local government elected officials from the Southern Interior of BC. The purpose is to network with fellow legislators and to prepare resolutions for the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) convention latter this year. Proposed resolutions are listed below and represent local government wants and wishes for new or changes to existing legislation. At UBCM these resolutions are debated and voted on for forwarding to the Provincial Government in hopes that they will see the value and move the resolutions on to a legislated form and implementation.

Although no resolutions were put forward by either RDCO or its participating municipalities this year; some worth while thoughts have been presented by other SILGA participating organizations and those receiving support from the delegates present will move onto UBCM.
