NWFR – In the news

I only wish we could get this kind of media attention to the more pressing issues before the North Westside community. As I stated in my interview I am extremely disappointed with the travel decisions made by residents including the fire department members that chose to travel at this time. The risks you take could jeopardize us all if new variants of the CPOVID19 virus come home with you. As far as FD Members go… they are Paid-on-Call employees of the RDCO not exempt or unionized employees and therefore not subject to the same rules and regulations. This does not bind them to RDCO Policies in the same way as other RDCO Staff but should not make them exempt from Health & Safety Policies meant to protect them and the people they serve.

The important take away from this is we still have a great fire department with outstanding members and officers. I believe the NWFR will respond and manage emergency scenes with the same organized and efficient scene management they are known for.

In an emergency you can still call 911 and count on our fire department to respond to and resolve the emergency you face.
