North Westside Resident Responds
Reading the newspaper yesterday I saw a Letter the Editor – Vernon Morning Star article that really seemed to sum up the frustration of many of the residents I talk to within the North Westside area. These incidents with our own Regional District only strengthen the resolve of the residents that seek a more respectful and transparent form of self governance. Why does the RDCO not want to work with the residents they serve? Why are questions of financial accountability not addressed? Why were the electoral area stakeholders votes denied and the entire Board allowed to vote on services they do not contribute to nor participate in … that certainly is not my definition of democracy? Why are the CAO and Board Chair so determined to block a governance study for the North Westside?
