North Westside power outage impacts water utilities

North Westside power outage impacts water utilities is the story in the Sunday December 4th Vernon Morning Star. As per usual with many of the RDCO News Releases large segments of the North Westside Community are ignored. Although the story addresses the impacts and implications for the RDCO owned utilities they forget the many residents in La Casa, Estamont and Fintry Delta that face the same water issues as a result of the power outage.

Why is it that the taxpayer funded RDCO Public Information Officer continues to miss or ignore the large segments of the community RDCO doesn’t directly control or operate a utility?

This is evidenced in the total lack of coverage given to the ongoing Governance Issue in the North Westside for the last year and a half. With no RDCO mention on their website or Facebook page this is not a communications plan that supports or acknowledges the issues of importance to the North Westside Community.  The residents deserve the same attention and due diligence directed to their essential services. Whether the RDCO operates their utility or not these residents still pay the taxes that support the Public Information department at the RDCO. They also should receive the same directions and advice as those on the public systems, after all in the end they are also taxpayers of the RDCO.power-outage

So to those of you that do not draw water from an RDCO operated water system the same advice given here will work well for you and your water management on December 7th when the lights go out and the water supply becomes finite.
