2017 Regional District Wages & Annual Payments to Suppliers Disclosure

Pay raise divides regional directors is the Kelowna Daily Courier story on the RDCO wage disclosures discussed at the last RDCO Board Meeting.  Not mentioned in the story is the fact that all the municipal representatives to the RDCO Board also collect a salary for council time and the time they spend attending committee meetings within both their representative municipality as well as RDCO Committees … that are almost exclusively filled by the appointed municipal representatives.  On the RDCO Committee list the electoral area directors are excluded from serving on these committees.  The lack of representation not only lessens the Electoral Area Directors pay it also leaves us and our residents unrepresented on these various committees (Economic Development Committee, Okanagan Basin Water Board, Audit Committee, etc etc).  The selection for these committees is decided by the Chair of the Board, a Kelowna City appointed representative and in my term anyway has given no representation or consideration to the Electoral Area Directors and the taxpayers they are trying to represent.  After 50 years of Kelowna domination of the RDCO Board maybe its time they did the right thing and stepped aside and allowed other community representatives to Chair the Board as is the accepted practice in the other Regional Districts within the Province.  Why is RDCO always different for the wrong reasons!

● Schedule of Employee Remuneration
● Schedule of Payments to Suppliers
● Statement of Severance Agreements
● Schedule of Guarantee and Indemnity Agreements
