Marine 101 on early trials – thought would be of interest…

I am so proud of this piece of equipment and I am pleased to hear that it played a critical role in the defense of our community and the rescue of residents from the waterfront. The fire service has told me that it was instrumental in both directly and indirectly (water supply) protecting homes in the North Westside. Unfortunately in this incident M-103 as well as the many fire apparatus from  Departments across the province along with BC Wildfire Service were just overwhelmed by the size and intensity of the fire they faced. The crews did a fantastic job considering the task they faced, we lost 78 homes but not from a lack of trying.
