Looks like the media in both Vernon and Kelowna are taking an interest in the search for Self Governance currently taking place within the North Westside. Here are some of the stories in the local media.
Vernon Morning Star Thanks Richard it’s always nice to know the Vernon Morning Star is there to get the message out to the North Westside. One of the issues we have dealt with as a community is the distance and disconnect between the rural North Westside and our distant and larger municipalities and media group that make up our regional district in the Central Okanagan.

Kelowna Daily Courier focused on the utility pole on the beach. I have included a link to the You Tube video that clearly shows the problem the community has so far been unable to get any support or empathy from the Regional District on. A letter was written to the Board Chair in early April and still no response has been received. Although the pole is an important problem the solution in my opinion lays in self governance. I’m sure a local council would have responded to this problem a couple of years and $6500.00 ago to local satisfaction.
You Tube Video of the Utility Pole on the Beach This video was taken at a time close to full pool on a day with moderate wave action. Clearly debris is around and behind the pole this with the steel boxes attached to the pole at “kid head bonking” hieght makes for an unnesecary hazard in what is a community park area.
