North Westside Landslide and Flood Information Session – May 12, 2022

North Westside flood/landslide online info session

Because of the Whiterock Lake wildfire, some areas of the North Westside are at higher risk for overland flooding and potential landslides.

To raise awareness and help you get prepared, the Regional District will hold a YouTube live online information session on Thursday, May 12 from 2 – 3 p.m.

You’re encouraged to join us at youtube/regionaldistrict as expert guests from Clarke Geoscience, Ministry of Transportation and Infastructure, Emergency Management BC and the RDCO:

  • Review the area hazardous conditions assessments and what affected property owners should monitor
  • Discuss how to prepare for potential flood and land movement
  • Review general emergency preparedness for your family
  • Provide updates on the RDCO Resiliency and Recovery office

If you’re not able to join us live, the session will be recorded and available on May 13 on the RDCO YouTube channel.

And don’t forget you can check the assessments done by the RDCO and province to get more specific details about your property. See the assessments at rdco.com/recovery
