SILGA 2018 – Revelstoke

Southern Interior Local Government Association (SILGA) AGM is a once a year conference attended by local government from geographical regions across the province.  The purpose is to submit and debate resolutions from member groups to put forward to the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) later in the year.  UBCM is where representatives from the Provincial Government meet with Local Government representatives to try and move some of these resolutions to legislation.  Cannabis and the expected revenue to local governments and the unprecedented flooding in 2017 and 2018 are the overriding issues at this year conference ion Revelstoke.

Here are the Convention Program and convention Resolutions discussed and voted on at this 2018 Convention.  The highlight for me, beyond the convention itself was the Tour of the Revelstoke Dam facilities.
