Killiney Beach – Update April 15 2018

I thought I would do another walk through on Killiney Beach prior to Spring thaw and runoff this year.  As you can see in the video the lake is very low, probably the lowest water level I remember, hopefully this with a slow melt will save us from the flooding problems we experienced last year.

As is apparent from the video Killiney Beach is still in the same condition as it was at the end of the flooding season of 2017.  RDCO has stated that they are awaiting approval of the Disaster Mitigating Funding from the Provincial Government prior to starting any rehabilitation to the beach, road, pier and boat launch.  What this means for 2018 beach usage is unknown at this time but … it does not look good for the 2018 summer season.  I will provide more information when it is made available to me.
