Killiney Beach Pier & Boat Launch – Full Pool

Water is still rising in Okanagan Lake lots of run-off left in the watershed and it’s all headed down hill to the lake that’s how the valley geography works.

Due to high water and hazards within the Park

As a result the Killiney Boat Launch is closed. There is still a Community Boat Launch at Site #1 in the south end of Fintry Delta as well as the one by the Old Packing House at the point in Fintry Provincial Park.

Killiney Beach Access Road – Full Pool

Here is the access  road at full pool with thew water well past the existing riprap. Too bad the large rocks from the Killiney Beach Water Up-Grade were not used here to beef up and protect the Park access road prior to the flooding & high water.

Water past the existing riprap.

Down the south end water still freely runs through the mudslide area from the 5th and across the turn around then down the boat launch into the lake. The pumphouse is sandbagged, the pier has large water filled barrels and more sandbags to hold down the deck as the water rises and secure it in case of a storm during this high water phase. This infrastructure protection and the high water are the reason Killiney Beach Park is closed to the Public.

Signage at Killiney Beach Community Park related to the slide by the boat launch.
