Wind Storm / Power Outage – North Westside
180625@1540 BC Hydro has updated the restoration of power until 1200 Noon Jun 26. Looks like we will be without power over night and through the morning. Conserve water all you can local water systems with the exception of Valley of the Sun / Muir Road (emergency generators) will be running low.
180625@1357 Drive BC has removed the closures on Westside Road from their Website. BC Hydro still shows 6:00 pm as the estimated time for power restoration.
180625@1253 The lights went out at 2:36 am this Monday morning during a raging wind storm that brought numerous trees down throughout the Valley. Armstrong and West Kelowna also suffered power loss. Currently our estimated time for power restoration is listed as 6:00 pm on Hydros Outage Website.
Use your water sparingly as the reservoirs are not being replenished as their pumps are electrical with no back-up, and we will have to do with what is currently in the reservoirs. This puts extreme pressure on the fire department when responding to either a structure or wildland fire, availability of water will determine their ability to have a good outcome.
There are trees down with and without powerline involvement that have many side roads blocked to traffic. Found this on DriveBC :
